Maailmassa on huikea kysyntä laadukkaasta kolutuksesta. Erityisen voimakasta kysyntä on Aasiassa, Venäjällä, Lähi-Idässä ja Afrikassa. Olen vetänyt ryhmää, joka on suunnitellut suomalaisen peruskoulun vientiä maailmalle. Tässä lyhyt kuvaus konseptista.
Quality education for all”
The idea is to spread the benefits of the Finnish primary school system across the globe.
The Quality School would offer solid, no-frills education to local and expat children
The age of pupils is 6-12 years of age
The language of teaching is English
The curriculum is loosely based on the Finnish school curriculum (“an alternative to the IB system”)
The kids would receive ”Finnish standard” skills by the time they are 15.
THE “IKEA” OF SCHOOLS
The Quality School would function like IKEA
All the schools would be uniform in style, functionality and curriculum.
Colours and design would set them apart from all other schools.
It would be affordable to all.
ENTERPRISE WITH A SOCIAL MISSION
The schools would be run by a foundation or a private company (“social enterprise”).
There will be three sources of financing
Companies that want to offer quality education to the children of their employee’s
Parents of the children.
In developing countries, development aid will be a source of financing
WHERE TO GET STARTED?
The first school will be established in Russia, in the Middle East or in China, if…
Authorities approve of the plan
Multinational companies operating in the area are willing to participate in the financing of the school
There is enough demand for quality education in English
Conduct a feasibility study
Hire CEO and board
The launch will follow the same pattern in each case:
A team of professionals will move to a new site, oversee the construction, recruit the teachers and get the first term going.
