Maailmassa on huikea kysyntä laadukkaasta kolutuksesta. Erityisen voimakasta kysyntä on Aasiassa, Venäjällä, Lähi-Idässä ja Afrikassa. Olen vetänyt ryhmää, joka on suunnitellut suomalaisen peruskoulun vientiä maailmalle. Tässä lyhyt kuvaus konseptista.

Quality education for all”
THE IDEA
• The idea is to spread the benefits of the Finnish primary school system across the globe.

THE BASICS
• The age of pupils is 6-12 years of age
• The language of teaching is English
• The curriculum is loosely based on the Finnish school curriculum (“an alternative to the IB system”)
• The kids would receive ”Finnish standard” skills by the time they are 15.
THE “IKEA” OF SCHOOLS
• The Quality School would function like IKEA
• All the schools would be uniform in style, functionality and curriculum.
• Colours and design would set them apart from all other schools.
• It would be affordable to all.
• The schools would be run by a foundation or a private company (“social enterprise”).
• There will be three sources of financing
• Companies that want to offer quality education to the children of their employee’s
• (local) governments
• Parents of the children.
• In developing countries, development aid will be a source of financing
WHERE TO GET STARTED?
• The first school will be established in
• Authorities approve of the plan
• Multinational companies operating in the area are willing to participate in the financing of the school
• There is enough demand for quality education in English
NEXT STEPS
• Conduct a feasibility study
• Hire CEO and board
• The launch will follow the same pattern in each case:
• A team of professionals will move to a new site, oversee the construction, recruit the teachers and get the first term going.
